The Royal Blue Overdrive offers a wide range of gain textures, from light overdrive to full distortion. At its lowest Distortion setting, the pedal effectively works as an EQ and tone-shaping tool, while higher settings deliver rich, tube amp–like crunch that responds dynamically to your playing.
Designed with minimal filtering, the Royal Blue Overdrive preserves a transparent core tone that can be precisely shaped using the dedicated Bass and Treble controls. Like the best boutique amplifiers, the amount of breakup is strongly influenced by pick attack and your guitar’s volume control, allowing expressive “strike hard for distortion” behavior and excellent touch sensitivity.

Controls
- VOLUME – Sets the overall output level of the pedal.
- DISTORTION – Controls the amount of overdrive and distortion. For the most dynamic response, set the control so that distortion is influenced by picking force.
- TREBLE – Boost/cut shelving EQ controlling the high end, operating similarly to a presence control on an amplifier. Adds shimmer without interfering with the amp’s own treble control.
- BASS – Boost/cut shelving EQ controlling the low end just above the resonance of a standard 4×12 cabinet. Turning both Bass and Treble up yields a scooped heavy tone; lowering both produces a softer mid-boosted sound.
